| Under three weeks to go for landmark east ideas |
|
| 2 Feb 04 |
There is less than three weeks to go until the entry deadline for the landmark east ideas competition.
The competition, which was launched by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) in October 2003, continues to attract a great deal of attention as the deadline (18 February) approaches.
Thousands of people have downloaded the competition brief from the website at www.landmarkeast.org.uk and nearly 1,000 people have downloaded the question and answer document which lists questions from potential entrants.
Yasmin Shariff, chair of the landmark east steering group said:
“Based on feedback, conversations and responses via our website since we launched the competition in October, we expect a wide range of exciting ideas to come forward. It will be fascinating to see the various interpretations of the competition brief and a big challenge for the judges to agree a short-list of twelve entries.”
The short-list will be announced after the first stage judging on Tuesday 24 February 2004. The twelve short-listed entries will then be the focus for debate and discussion through the media and the landmark east website during March. At the beginning of March, a focus group made up on members of the public, will review the short-list. Fifty people, drawn from the East of England through BBC Radio and TV, will give their views and nominate two members of the group (1 male and 1 female) to represent them on the final judging panel.
The winners will be announced on Wednesday 31 March 2004.
