Watermarking proposes a moveable ‘Dragonfly’ bridge that would be used as a focus for riverside events, travelling around the region’s waterways.

The project is challenging, requiring innovative technology and design to achieve its many functions as well as ensuring it can be moved along the region’s waterways – its arrival at a location being an event in itself.

Watermarking’s ‘Dragonfly’ bridge aims to serve a practical purpose, literally bridging communities and acting as a performance venue. The bridge would positively exploit the major natural resource of the East of England’s waterways without leaving a damaging permanent imprint on the landscape.

The project has attracted interest from a number of locations including Bedford where Bedford Borough Council is strongly supportive of the concept.
